that is just a rumour. and since you are talking in terms of RedHat, i
don't recall a 6.3 release. The odd numbers refers to the kernal.
2.0.x, 2.2.x, 2.4.x are considered stable, but 2.5.x is the
development kernal.

mandrake 7.2 and 8.1 are the versions that i had the most fun with.
8.2 was quite good. mandrake 9 ??? grrrr no octave bundled with it,
and the version from 8.2 wouldn't install due to dependancies. finally
managed to install octave thanks to a friend who downloaded all the
required rpms for me. that and everybuddy doesn't seem to work.
