All bootable partitions are supposed to be in the 1024 cylinder boundary, so that makes for an 8.2 GB limit. The 'boot' directory of Linux controls the startup part. So, you'll need to keep atleast the /boot partition (which can be allocated 100M or 200M of space) under 8.2 GB limit and the remaining beyond that.
Besides, SWAP is created inside an extended partition by default, so that won't be a problem.
