 I agree with the commercial products like cisco, MS etc. But for
opensource there will be lot of documentations online, and can start,
can become an expert. And my suggestion will be not to go for any Linux
certification. As it is a way to make money. There is no certification
needed to become an expert. According to you Linus Torvalds has to pass
some certification?  NO.

 It depends on the experience on the user has gone through.

I am sure that after knowing all the advanced user won't go for any
certification.
