your xserver is trying to use xfs, but xfs isn't running. in general,
for a standalone machine xfs shouldn't be required, but in any case, the
fixed font should always be loaded directly into the XServer and not
through xfs (it's the fallback font).
someone has already mentioned that you should start xfs, I would suggest
that you also add the misc fonts to your fontpath in XF86Config-4
