Fatal server error: Could not open default font 'fixed' When reporting a problem related to a server crash, please send the full server output, not just the last messages. Please report problems to [EMAIL PROTECTED] XIO:fatal IO error 104(connection reset by peer) on X server "0:0" after 0 requests (0 known processed) with 0 events remaining.Otherwise the machine is working without any problem. Any clues please ?
Looks like your system has not been setup right. Do the following-
1. Xconfigurator - See whether it is able to detect your card and other settings automatically. If it does not and you have to feed the values, make sure you give the right ones. Is it able to start the X server? If not it will take you back to config with an error message.
2. Type X at the command prompt and see if you get a white screen with a graphic mouse cursor. To get out of it press Ctrl-Alt-Backspace.
3. Type X -probeonly and scan the messages displayed.
These steps should give you the clue as to what is wrong.
