I am running two linux machines ( RedHat 8.0 ) with cvs 1.11.5-cvshome.8x.1
I need to make a mirror of the repository from one machine to the other.
If I copy the full reppository, I need to run CVS init again after the files
are copied right ? Moreover if the files in the source repository is being
used then this will create a problem in copying the files, I think so ?
What is the best way of mirroring the repository ? Do we need to stop cvs
while taking the backup ? On a weekly basis I can stop the repository once.
But how can do this on daily basis so that both the machines are in sync at
any given moment ?
To take backup of CVS you need not stop repo or CVS.
For keeping repos in sync use CVSUP. For more details visit cvsup site.
Cheers.
