Hi jaybrata,

First,
# cdrecord -scanbus
Cdrecord 1.10 (i686-pc-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2001 J?rg Schilling
Linux sg driver version: 3.1.24
Using libscg version 'schily-0.5'
scsibus0:
        0,0,0 0) 'SAMSUNG ' 'CDRW/DVD SM-308B' 'xp01' Removable CD-ROM
        0,1,0 1) *
        0,2,0 2) *
        0,3,0 3) *
        0,4,0 4) *
        0,5,0 5) *
        0,6,0 6) *
        0,7,0 7) *

/etc/fstab does point to /dev/cdrom which is a symlink to /dev/scd0
I'll also look at the HOWTO more carefully...

thanks,
Rishi.
