Hi, I am running Redhat 7.1, kernel 2.4.9-12
This is what I see in the messages file. I would like to know why the syslogd has restarted. The smb messge is because I have mounted a ntfs file system. /var/log/messages " Feb 23 04:02:01 hydlynx syslogd 1.4-0: restart. Feb 23 04:02:01 hydlynx syslogd 1.4-0: restart. Feb 23 04:02:06 hydlynx kernel: smb_trans2_request: result=-104, setting invalid " I dont have logrotate. I don't see any suspious activity in the system also. Please help.
