Hi all,

I have run into a tricky situation..this is at my home..

1) I have working linux install
2) My machine can not boot from 700MB CD
3) Believe it or not, I don't have floppy drive. I don't have a dos/windows
installation either to run loadlin.

I want to install slackware 9 at home. Any idea how can I go about it?

I tried following.

1) Boot from CD. Obviously didn't work..
2) Try adding /dev/hdc as other target in lilo. Lilo didn't run successfully.:-
(

I have several idea but not too sure how much of use they will be.

1) Is it possible to load a kernel like loadlin does from linux? Say I copy it
on a reiserfs partition, add a target in lilo and tell lilo to load that thing
on next boot. Will it work?

2) Is there something similar to format/s in linux? I mean put a kernel on
empty partition and boot from it?

If I can reach setup program of slackware, I can move from there. But I could
not find it in slack iso. ( mounted using daemontools under windows and
searched it. No separate setup..)

Any help is greatly appreciated. Slack ISO is 678MB and I don't want to trim it
just for this..

TIA

Bye
 Shridhar
