well...i once had a usb pen drive and went thru the same pain
after inserting the pen drive, /etc/sysconfig/hwconf had an entry for the
name of device where this drive was available. something like
class: USB
device: scd0

/etc/sysconfig/hwconf exists in my RHL 7.1 as well as 8.

Okay cdrecorder - scanbus give some output but I am unable to decipher
still what dev it is getting to??
and what file system.
What is the line above ?? Nothing like that in my RH7.3 based system 8-(
