Hi,

>From next month onwards the goatelecom people will be shifted to sancharnet
server. The process has already been completed and we have been asked to
connect to the sancharnet server.

When I tried to connect from windows it connected without problems. But
when I do the same connection in linux using wvdial this happens :

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
--> Modem initialized.
--> Sending: ATDT172233
--> Waiting for carrier.
ATDT172233
CONNECT 38400
--> Carrier detected. Waiting for prompt.

/var/log/messages shows :

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

My /etc/wvdial.conf is as follows :

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
[Dialer sancharnet]
Modem = /dev/ttyS0
Username = myusername
Password = mypassword
Init1 = ATZ
Init2 = ATQ0 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2 S11=55 +FCLASS=0
Init3 = ATX1
Init4 = ATM1L1
Dial Command = ATDT
Auto Redial = yes
Phone = 172233
Baud = 38400
Auto DNS = 0
Check DNS = 0
Stupid Mode = no
New PPPD = yes
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

I am doign Auto DNS =0 and Check DNS = 0 because I use pdnsd.

With the same settings the goatelecom server connects fine. Anybody can
suggest what else I have to do to connect to the sancharnet server from
Linux.

Thanks a lot.

Peace
