Hi, On my DSL connection sometimes while fetching the mail the following thing happens :
fetchmail: 5.7.4 querying www.dempos.com (protocol POP3) at Tue 08 Jul 2003 12:41:59 PM IST fetchmail: POP3< +OK POP3 web28.linux-hosting.com v7.64 server ready fetchmail: POP3> USER dempos2-dempos fetchmail: POP3< +OK User name accepted, password please fetchmail: POP3> PASS * fetchmail: timeout after 180 seconds waiting for server www.dempos.com. fetchmail: client/server synchronization error while fetching from www.dempos.com fetchmail: Query status=7 (ERROR) Even with default timeout of 5 minutes same thing happens hence I have made it 3 minutes. But for the next mailbox fetchmail works ok. Than again in between the same problem for some other mailbox. Why is this inconsistency while fetching mail. I must however accept that the DSL connection here is a little bit on slower side during the afternoon session and the above problem mostly occurs during this time. But if it is due to connection problem than the subsequent mailboxes also should have done the same. Which is not the case. Can anybody pinpoint what could be wrong ? Thanks in advance.
