Hi, We run alot of java and web based applications on RedHat, Sun and HP boxes. how can I find out memeory and cpu related statics by these user created processes ? I am awanre of ps and meminof and top. How can I get more info on top command. Please give me some tips.
Using top I can see that two processes have 89% and 79% of cpu utilisation. But if we add that , it exceeds 100%. How should we read the statics from these commands ? I have heard commands like sar and glance, I believe we have to have licences for them ? Please correct me if I am wrong ? On RedHat systems is it available for free ? Please give me useful tips and url's if anyone has some on this topic. Thank you.
