Depends on what you want to do. General rule of thumb you might want to
follow while trying to configure anything -

- RTFM - Read the package documentation
- Google but dont feel so lucky
- Check for any HOWTO's available (http://www.tldp.org)
- Check the list of files installed with the package, check if any
  sample config files have been provided. Most of these are well
  commented. (rpm -ql or whatever)
- Put out a post on LIH or any similar mailing list, not being haunted
  by a flamewar ATM.

If you get any errors you cant figure out -
- Check documentation, FAQ's
- Google for the errors
- Post on LIH or any similar mailing list.
