Not really. I will still hold on to standards compliance as a virtue.
Oh, and reliability, non blackbox nature, flexibility, customizability,
documentation and support and hardware reliability do matter.
When you can rip a lot of stuff out of Win32 (RPC anyone? IE?), then
Windows will look a lot better. In which case it will look more like
Unix.
Those who do not understand unix are condemned to reinvent it, poorly.
