Great to hear from you. Are you/someone else doing "helo filtering" for this list as well? I had a *hell* lot of time for delivering last mail for 2-3 days till a friend gave me smtp access to his company's server.
Sourceforge does a lot more than we do. Ask them why your mail bounced, maybe ... 99.99% it'll be because you are mailing *direct* from a vsnl dialup or whatevetr.
How are you doign it for India (if this is not violating any ND you may have signed). Just the basic idea and not details.
For india? VSNL for example has all its dialups with a consistent rDNS pattern (ppp-whatever). Stuff like that, and looking up APNIC records for the rest.
Talk about freedom. Is there any workaround for such ISPs? I mean if I want to use my SMTP only then....?
There's the MSA port 587 defined in RFCs for mail submission - so you set your smtproute to your.smtp.server:587
aaaaahhh!!! where will a poor girl :) like me get a static mailserver. My ISP which is *EXCELLENT* does not provide smtp access. So, just for mailing clients of srs I have to change my ISP??? Be Indian.
http://www.myrealbox.com for example provides free smtp auth over TLS. You can use any address you like in the from. Several ISPs offer this as a for pay service (one of the best is www.pobox.com by the way)

Sorry. I came over to India to concentrate solely on antispam policies - giving up practicing sysadmin stuff (it is not fun getting woken up 4 times a night because of server problems, I assure you - especially on a network the size that ours is, this becomes rather frequent).
While I still have root on servers and sometimes do do stuff, more often than not the guy who got hired as sysadmin to replace me does that these days, now that I get to concentrate on abuse desk + policy enforcement issues (antispam operations)
- take over srs company and make him stop that practice (sic). But this would take time.

- kill his CTO and implicate srs in the murder and make him go on run. I would hate it because srs is kinda cute and will not look good with beard and long hair.
Depends on how long - hair already a bit below my collar and I haven't shaved in almost a week (but tomorrow and the day after, there's two back to back conferences, one in sunnyvale and the other in Washington DC - got to shave twice in two days, imagine that!).
