Watch your logs - automate it if you have too many logs.

It doesn't pass through our mail server. Our dynamic customers don't have their out bound 25 blocked So they can mail directly and no logs are produced. And we do not want to block the outbound 25 either.

Any way I now I do have a graph of out bound smtp traffic stats and know if any system is behaving unusually.

That'd 99.999% mean a compromised / trojan infected box or an open proxy that is being abused to spam hotmail ... they are sending out notifications for that now.

all proxy ports are blocked from outside to our dynamic customers. So it's a compromised machine.

http://postmaster.info.aol.com - there is a number that you can call.

Hm.. I have tried mailing them. but no response, excite took about 2 months. They all want spammers to be shut down immediately, but open the block at their leisure.

We can kill this thread now, as this is of least interest to others. My intension for continuing this was to let the mail admins here know that they are not the only ones to fight spams and what it is like to be on the receiving end of their blocking.
