Hello all,
Is there any way of playing a vcd *.dat file in linux? I tried
playing it using mplayer but could not do so.
Another thing is I am able to listen to audio cd in gnome (not in
kde)- I just pop the audio cd in the cd drive and it starts playing -
but I cannot get to detect the sound card in linux as such so I don't
get any audio for sound files on the hard disk. Why is this? I also
recompiled the kernel with sound support but it did not help. I have
an ISA sound card - Aztech 2320 compatible PnP Audio (WDM). Also I use
kernel 2.4.18 (RedHat 8.0 based) linux.
I tried using sndconfig to configure the sound card but it was not a
success. Also I did find a module called sound.o which I loaded using
insmod but that too didnt give any results. I tried "modprobe -a" too.
Will upgrading to fedora and the latest kernel help ?
