Hello, A client of mine wants to shift from Oracle to a different database due to its high cost. My knowledge as far as databases go is negligible. He is in guages manufacturing and needs a strong database capable of carrying lot of load in future. My recommendation were mysql or posgresql. What do you think is the better choice? Or is there another one? The reason for mysql was that many programmers are already familar with it and getting people to work on it will be easy. What is the case with posgresql - any advantages or disadvantages?
