I am a new user for kanotix and debian based system. I have used mandrake upto 10.1. I have seen a facility in mandrake for netprofiling. It is useful in laptop. In home I give my ethernet card static ip and in office I give dhcp and also I use wifi in dell 600m with wifi profile. boot options in lilo can use profile directly to load either static ip or dhcp or wifi.
