I am using the D-Link DSL-502T router provided by MTNL. Yours might not be 
different. It is just that you plug in the right connections and set your 
network settings to dhcp. Use only the ethernet port. I dont think USB will 
work. Then, you open up your browser on 192.168.1.1. There, you run the 
wizard and enter all that it asks. Ask BSNL for the login, password, VPI and 
VCI. Then, you must reboot the system (first time I'm seeing a linux system 
that require you to reboot it).

As for ADSL 2, D-Link India's site says that it requires firmware upgrade 
which "will be available shortly".
