Take it cool.
It was just to have an idea what those people switching from Windoze to
Linux expect from Linux and what those people already in Linux think about
those switching to Linux... If linux community is happy with vi and emacs,
its okay, no problem.
I'm never against any editor / IDE / application. In fact, I myself use vi
(Solaris) to edit my programs :-)
I was just trying to tell that if Windoze users find applications in linux
similar to what they are using for Windoze, it will be easy to them to
switch. If anybody heard that message, its fine, otherwise, I can't help it
anymore...
Consider StarOffice, I have made many of my friends to use SO for Win as
first step to switch to Linux (after that successful failure!!). Once they
are familiar with SO for Win, it will be easy for them to use SO for linux
and then linux itself...
