As Binand and I pointed out - problem is not with sendmail. You have a
DNS problem. Read the DNS-HOWTO in the Linux Documentation Project :)
[or get your dns offsite - from some other server]
Are you doing yr own dns / getting dns from vsnl / ernet? Check what
/etc/resolv.conf says.
