Correct me if I am wrong. The 203.197. ip block is VSNL's dialup ip pool,
from which it allots DHCP addresses. I tried nslookup on both and it
gives me "nonexistent host / domain". 202.54.6.1 is giasmd01.vsnl.net.in

>203.197.150.52 is my DNS. rest is vsnl's.

Check again. These are dhcp assigned ip addresses. Have you been
allotted a static ip address? They seem to have given you a DHCP + NAT
based connection.

>connection. i was making double sure since vsnl
>service are not reliable.

They are too damned clueless, if they give you DHCP ips as nameservers.

>well. its the same DNS i use now. the only thing that

Pardon??? Your nameservers are sure to change if you shift ISPs (even
ERNET to VSNL). Do yourself a favor - make sure exactly WHAT your DNS
servers are, what your IP address is (you ~haven't~ been allotted a static
ip, I think) ... etc.
