Hi, I'd like to get IRDA working on the CL-7110 chip (used in the PSION 5 and Geofox). It looks like I should be able to fit it into the irtty driver, but I don't see quite how it works. The way IRDA works on the CL-7110 is that it has an on-chip UART (not 16550 compatible, but we do have a driver which works fine for it in RS232 mode), and if you set a single bit in a control register, the UART starts talking SIR instead of RS232.
