That would interest me aswell... What would be really interesting would be
to if there is a phone somewhere that would let you use dataservices over
voiceservices between GSM phones.
The way I understand it
GSM provides a data channel of 9600bps
GSM voice services uses this channel to send digitally compressed sound
GSM data services sends this channel to some kind of device that converts it
into normal analog modem signals, sometimes with compression for 14.400bps
sometimes without.
MAX676 in austria has an offer where you can have flatrate between 5 or more
phones
Theoreticly this would enable me to set up my own flatrate GSM isp (for
private use)... only question is... are there any phones that would let me
pull it off?
