I've just gotten my hands on an Armada M700 laptop and wanted to see
if I could get all the featurettes from Windows working under Linux.

Currently running 2.2.14-irda1 and it fails to detect the SMC FIR
controller, although seems to enable SIR mode without any fuss. Which
end should I start digging into in getting the FIR driver alive,
either in me doing something wrongly, or actually poking at the SMC
FIR driver code?

Output from `lspnp -vv 0e`:
0e SMCf010 communications device: RS-232
    flags: [dynamic]
    allocated resources:
        io 0x03e8-0x03ef [16-bit decode]
        io 0x0100-0x0107 [16-bit decode]
        irq 3 [high edge]
        dma 5 [16 bit] [compat]
    possible resources:
        [start dep fn]
        io 0x03f8-0x03f [16-bit decode]
        io base 0x0100-0x0130 align 0x10 len 0x08 [16-bit decode]
        irq mask 0x00b8 [high edge]
dma mask 0x000c [8 bit] [compat]
        [start dep fn]
        ...
        ...
[snipped many fairly generic serial configs with dma and iobase 0x100 as above]

Please let me know what more info I can supply to make the easier for
me and others willing to help ;)

cheers,
