Don't know, to be honest. I think undefining APM_NOINTS usually fixes it
anyway but I can't remember whether there was someone for whom it didn't
work. For some machines installing an earlier BIOS fixes the problem
without doing that, but for some newer machines there is no earlier BIOS.
In any case, IBM could make this sort of fiddling unnecessary by testing
Linux on their machines before releasing them.
