I'm trying to get RH6.0 installed on an old Gateway laptop (hence, no
CDROM) using a PLIP remote install.... has anyone managed to do this
successfully??
I got two machines hooked up with a homebrew laplink cable but get
transmission timeouts between the laptop and my desktop machine when
trying to use RH6's bootnet install disk. I can ping the laptop at this
point from the desktop machine.
I think this is probably just a shielding problem with my cable (I'm
running about 1.75 metres over unshielded cable), but wanted to check
that there's no bugs with the PLIP install in RH6 before I try to hunt
down some better cable....
