I recently purchased my laptop and the issue of securing your data on the
laptop came to my mind.

I thought up of a few measures to make accessing the data on my laptop more
difficult if it was stolen (which i hope will not happen). However, I am
quite sure that there are holes which i did not consider and I just thought of
throwing this issue out for anybody who might have comments.

1. I set the boot sequence to the harddisk then the floppy and cd-rom
2. I password protected the bios setup so that changes to the boot sequence
requires a calid password.
3. I set the lilo to be password protected so that linux single will not work
wthout a valid password.

Anyone has any comments on how someone who steal my laptop can access the data
inside after I have done the three measures?
(I am an ignorant idiot so if i did something really foolish just gently tell
me)

Anyway just thought this might be an interesting issue that many experienced
users might have good suggestions.

Why I Can't Go Out With You:

I'd LOVE to, but...
-- I have to draw "Cubby" for an art scholarship.
-- I have to sit up with a sick ant.
-- I'm trying to be less popular.
-- My bathroom tiles need grouting.
-- I'm waiting to see if I'm already a winner.
        -- My subconscious says no.
-- I just picked up a book called "Glue in Many Lands" and I
can't seem to put it down.
-- My favorite commercial is on TV.
-- I have to study for my blood test.
-- I've been traded to Cincinnati.
-- I'm having my baby shoes bronzed.
-- I have to go to court for kitty littering.
