Where can I buy a 8.X Gb laptop disk at a reasonable price? All of the
prices I have seen
are $900 for a 6GB.
Thanks,
Dave

Hello Harry,
I've been using such an adapter for quite a while and it
has been working flawlessly. The adapter was under the denonimation
2.5 inches to 3.5 inches adapter.
The only thing you have to check is that you put it in the right way:
basically on the 2.5 inches hard disks there are pins for normal IDE,
but there are also pins for the power supply, that means that
if you put the adapter the wrong way you can send voltage to some pins
that are not supposed to get voltage and fry your hard disk. Sorry for
the lame explanation, but you get the idea.
Therefore, when you get the adapter, ASK for the cabling.
Since I'm removing my notebook hard disk quite often to do some
partition images, for me it was convenient to use a removable
IDE enclosure, plug the adapter inside and then connect the hard disk to
the adapter then close the IDE enclosure.
Hope this helps,
Laurent
PS: FWIW, I bought my adapter for about $15.
