i am looking at purchasing one of these notebooks: (i am in the USA)
- FutureTech FM88XLP2
- MicroExpress NP8466
- Eurocom 8500P
the first uses the ATI Rage Pro 3D 2x AGP
the other two, the ATI Rage LT Pro 2x AGP
i have been fishing info on the support provided by the latest
XFree86 (3.3.5 ?),
and i am still in doubt regarding support in it for the above listed
hardware. (found some nebulous/contradictory statements)
can somebody help clear my confusion ?
- which hardware option is the safest bet regarding the X server(s)?
(if i have to go commercial, that would be OK)
- what does 'LT' stand for ?
also, does anyone know of a reason (outside the video hardware) why i
*should not* get any one of these notebooks ?
BTW, is SuSE 6.3 already in the stores ? SuSE said they would be shipping
'first week of december'...
