Hello all,

  As I wrote last week, I have a problem using APM with linux. I tried to
recompile the kernel with the following compilation option:
CONFIG_APM=y
# CONFIG_APM_IGNORE_USER_SUSPEND is not set
CONFIG_APM_DO_ENABLE=y
CONFIG_APM_CPU_IDLE=y
CONFIG_APM_DISPLAY_BLANK=y
CONFIG_APM_POWER_OFF=y
# CONFIG_APM_IGNORE_MULTIPLE_SUSPEND is not set
# CONFIG_APM_IGNORE_SUSPEND_BOUNCE is not set
CONFIG_APM_RTC_IS_GMT=y
# CONFIG_APM_ALLOW_INTS is not set

  It seems to have compile OK, and I think to have installed the new kernel
right. But still, the problem remains: If I enable the APM in BIOS settings,
linux simply does not boot and I get a full screen of Hex numbers. If I disable
the APM in BIOS LINUX boots OK. I have noticed that BIOS complains at boot
time about HIBERNATION mode not properly install and asked me to run HDPREPEZ.
Does anybody have experienced similar problems and could help me?
How could redirect the message LINUX issue at boot time when it fails, to
have a chance to read the first lines?

 Thanks in advance to everybody in the Linux world.

                Gerald Carrier.
