Yes, I did get you a bit wrong. I'd have shut up if I understood what
your question was! :-) . Thinking about it though, there are variables. Have
you asked this one of the kernel gurus? There may be an adjustment somewhere
.....probably EXTREMELY well hidden - as usual :-(. The op system has to make a
difference; It can't be all BIOS or else linux would be the same as m$. That
might be part of the APM stuff (You did read all that?) - I stopped APMD
in my laptop, and neutered the BIOS - every time I press 'Return' it died for
30 seconds while the hard disk speeded up, and every time I tried to read
something, something switched the screen off! And that's supposed to be
progress >:-(
