Hi,
I'm using a pcmicia scsi card to drive an exabyte tape and 18GB disk.
The problem I'm having is that the exabyte is much slower than the same
drive on a linux desktop machine, and it's using in excess of 80% of the
CPU, reading or writing. The performance is killing the system.
Does anyone know if pcmcia-scsi-tape is usable under linux?
If so, any guesses as to what my problems are?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Dell latitude 400MHz
Adaptec PCMCIA SCSI
Exabyte 8205 tape drive
