Hello, Could some of you in Seattle area please help me get wifi on a newer Lenovo laptop using Fedora 23? This's my 3rd month with no wifi.
Currently, I'm stuck with Windoze 10. This laptop has a weird Linux wifi problems that will not even make it work with supported USB wlan unless I hassle by unloading critical modules. I kept googling and Fedora mailinglist to no avail. I don't believe that ndiswrapper will work either. My system info is this: dmidecode | grep 'System Information' -A8 System Information Manufacturer: LENOVO Product Name: 80QD Version: Lenovo YOGA 700-14ISK Serial Number: PF0EKTY1 UUID: 4F9FAF54-8C06-11E5-8FC7-507B9D6D7E08 Wake-up Type: Other SKU Number: LENOVO_MT_80QD_BU_idea_FM_Lenovo YOGA 700-14ISK Family: IDEAPAD lspci | grep Network 01:00.0 Network controller: Qualcomm Atheros Device 0042 (rev 30) The wlan card model is the Qualcomm Atheros QCA9377 Wireless Network Adapter using Windoze driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\qcamain10x64.sys (4.0.1.137, 2.22 MB (2,327,040 bytes), 10/30/2015 12:17 AM) Possibly it works with Linux and I have both drivers and firmware. Nevertheless, I followed these steps. http://forums.fedoraforum.org/archive/index.php/t-305292.htmlhttp://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2300861&page=3http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?p=1748060 I can meet you at the public library or GSLUG if you're in Seattle area. My cellphone # is 2066310357 if you can text me. best regards, Mo
