Hi,
I've got two drives on my machine. The master drive is running Win95
and has the Ontrack Dynamic Drive Overlay software v.9.4.5 installed
on it. The slave drive is currently blank and I intend installing
Redhat 5.2 on it. I was intending to perform a workstation class
installation but I see that this will automatically install LILO. Will
installing LILO mess up my DDO? Is it better to do a Redhat custom
installation and boot from a boot floppy disk?
Thanks in advance for any help given.
Calum.

Dear friends:
I heard today from someone at Mozilla, who said that Netscape was well
aware of the bookmark bug (no way to automatically sort bookmarks by name)
and will fix it in verison 5.0. Great news!

Hello.
I am working on JNI under Linux and after successful compiling
the source code I cannot create Java VM through JNI_CreateJavaVM.
The program just exits with Segmentation fault or runds indefinitely.
I tried to use various versions of jdk from 1.4 to 2.1 for Linux and in all
cases got the same result.
Thank's in advance.

Here in comp.os.linux.misc, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (WARGY)
spake unto us, saying:
>M$ IE5 is out and it can run on Solaris Unix. Can that Solaris package
>be installed in Linux? (especially Slackware 3.6 distro)
Note: The Solaris version is for Solaris/Sparc, not Solaris/Intel, so
most Linux users don't have a prayer of running it, but those with a
Sparc might.
A port to the Intel flavor of Solaris (and to Intel Linux) would be a
fairly easy task, I think. Microsoft is choosing not to for whatever
reason.

Just as the error message indicates, the nameserver you're defined
can not be accessed at that time. You might perhaps want to add
a secondary nameserver into /etc/resolv.conf .

Unless you want to do more than one thing at a time. Dude, I use MacOS
every day and I'll tell you right now that compared to almost every OS on
the market it sucks balls. It is probably the most tired, ugly, clunky,
constricting, piece o' crap I've ever had the displeasure of using. That's
why I'm excited about Linux and BeOS. Both have the potential for replacing
Macs in the graphics/DTP field. Also the re-release of the Amiga is
exciting. Just can't wait till we can trash the Macs.

"Ease of Use" is an adjective wich often accompanies another
adjective.....crap! Linux may not be pretty (yet) but at least it gives you
the freedom to make it pretty.

Subject: Compiling BIND-4.9.7 under Slackware 3.6.0?
Date: Mon, 22 Mar 1999 11:03:15 +0100
Have a small problem. I am trying to compile BIND-4.9.7 under Slackware
3.6.0 running kernel version 2.0.36. but all I get is a lot of
errormessages. Most of them seems to origin from portability.h (look
beneath for errormessages.)
Has anyone done this successfully and if so, how?

That depends on what size of monitor you have, and how much video
RAM. Run xf86config again, and near the end, it will ask you to
select the modes, and then will ask you if you want a desktop larger
than the physical desktop (I don't remember the exact wording, as I no
longer use X). Answer no. Try that.
