That's the situation I have, and I found it easier, having Boot Magic,
to just put lilo in the boot partition and use Boot Magic to boot NT,
Linux and Win98. Just in case somebody is messing with a bunch
of OSs, it seems easier than getting into the details of configuring
those script-based loaders.

Do you have /usr/bin/procmail installed on your system? Is it set up as

Does anyone else use a Voodoo Banshee 16meg AGP under X? I'm having a
problem where i'm getting small horizontal screen fuzzies no matter what
resolution i run at. I've tried everything i know how to try to get rid
of them to no avail. Anyone else ever had this problem? Its not just in X
either. Once i fire up an xserver and tear it down i still get the screen
fuzzies on the console.

the terminal emulator usually owns that combination (e.g., in xterm, it's
one of the translations commonly set in the app-defaults file).

That's not quite true. Programs like aCraptek DirectCD use something
called "packet writing" to sort-of use a CD-RW like a huge floppy disk.
These CDs are written in the UDF filesystem format. At the moment,
there's not much support for packet-writing in Linux, though you can read
UDF-format CDs using a kernel patch (2.2.14) or the development kernel
(2.3.99-pre3).
Johann's comments about multi-session CD-writing are partially true and
partially false. Multi-session writing only appends, it doesn't delete;
that much is true. However, any CD-ROM manufactured after about 1996 can
read multi-session CDs and see all the data from all the sessions. Very
old and/or cheap drives don't do this, but *all* CD-R(W)s can do this. So
my advice to Henrik would be to read the CD-Writing HOWTO, specifically
the part where it talks about multi-session writing.
Please note that audio CD players are only single-session capable AFAIK.

Er, try
linux init=/bin/bash
...that should work a bit better. However, SuSE is a bit security-minded,
and you *might* get the login+password prompt again. If that happens,
then you need a rescue disk to boot from. SuSE 6.1 shipped with a rescue
disk; just boot from CD 1 and choose "Start rescue system". From that
rescue system, you should be able to access /etc/shadow and remove root's
password completely. Then you can boot the system from the hard disk, and
root will have no password at all. HTH, bonne chance.

I ran an Adaptec AHA-1515 for years. I think you are out of luck in
trying to use the 'stock kernel/module' since this card (and your
AHA-1505) do not fully implement the features in an Adaptec AHA-1520 Card
(especially the BIOS testing). I was able to get this card running by
recompiling the kernel; modifying the makefile in the /drivers/scsi
directory and using the -DSKIP_BIOS_TEST and -DSETUP0={...parms here...}
options for the AHA152x module instead of the default options. After
recompiling the kernel with these flags, my AHA-1515 worked perfectly.
Your AHA-1505 should work equally as well.
Good Luck...
