Just crosspost the article(s). To do this, in your Newsgroups: line, enter
the newsgroups separated with commas, but no space after the commas. For
example, should you want to post both to nf.comp.linux and
comp.os.linux.misc, you'd have a Newsgroups line:
Newsgroups: nf.comp.linux,comp.os.linux.misc
Of course, it's not nice to crosspost to a large number of groups, but a
few is OK, and often a good idea.

Can anyone recommend what changes I should make to my XF86Config
file? I tried many different settings and every time, my virtual
desktop is either larger than the actual desktop, or I get
an "out of range" message from my monitor.
The virtual desktop looks to be 1024x768 and the desktop 640x480
but could be 800x600.
The card is a 2D Trident 9680 w/ 2meg RAM.

What have you tried to restore the partition.
Right now it is an sxt2 linux partition. You will have to use
fdisk or Partition Magic to change it back to FAT Windows
partition.

It's my understanding that, as a defendent, you have a choice
between a jury trail or simply having the judge decide the case.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Microsoft elect to have to
judge decide their case?
Anyway, IMHO, better to have a single judge decide this
highly technical case (even if he does hate your guts)..then
12 people off the street with no knowledge of computers.
Also, that single judge doesn't have the final say..there is
always the appeals process.

Subject: environment for "at" and "cron"
Date: Sun, 28 May 2000 12:33:23 -0500
I have a script job I need to run every 12 hours. If I set up
the job using "at" it runs the script fine; if I put the job in
my crontab to run every twelve hours it doesn't. I receive an
email from cron telling me the job was started, but the script
doesn't run. I suspect that this may be an environment problem
where "at" inherits it's environment from the shell from which it
was invoked, while "cron" uses some (apparently quite spartan)
default environment of it's own. What's the easiest way to fix
this? I've tried adding my PATH environment to the script, but
no joy. Is there an easy way to dump my entire shell environment
into my cron job so it can run the script instead of having to
rely on "at" to do the job?

Has anybody managed to get a CD-based encyclopedia to run from
wine? I finally got wine installed and configured and although
it seems to run the "fluff" programs like sol.exe and
freecell.exe, it dies when I try to use Encarta. I have no
strong feelings about Encarta so if you've managed to make some

A diploma proves that you know how to research an answer.
I've seen an MCSE attempt to configure an NT server (4.0), which he couldn't
do. After three days of experimentation and failure, he called his instructor
in. After another 4 days (totalling now a week) they finally got it running.
I have no certifications, but managed to setup a Linux server with Apache,
Bind, Squid, and Xntpd in less than a 2 day period with about 3-4 hours of
work per day. I'll have to run throught it one more time and close any
remaining holes, but it's already solid enough to be granted a place on
the UPS and main switch and has been put into active service.
Certifications look good on a resumee or a business card, but aren't worth
the paper they're printed on in the real world. They get you in the door,
but it's up to your know-how to keep you there.

Subject: 'Neighbour table overflow' message repeats, why?
Date: 28 May 2000 19:00:18 GMT
I have 1 Mandrake Linux 6.0 (kernel 2..2.13-22mdk) & use IPmasquerading
with a Win95 OSR2 PC to share an internet connection using eth0. I bring
up Netscape on both, sometimes MS IE on the Winbox to surf.
At the bash prompt, though, sometimes I get 'Neighbour table overflow'
and this repeats even when the Winbox has disconnected (well, maybe not
actively surfing). Any ideas how to get rid of this repetetive message?
