OpenSSH 2.3.0p1 works for me with both ssh1 & 2 clients from a variety
of systems (Linux/Solaris/Mac/NT). authorized_keys and authorized_keys2
must both be mode 600, and .ssh must be 700. In general, use the
strictest possible perms on your ssh files.

If you've done some C++Builder, you should take a look at:

Hope this helps...

Sorry for budding in, but isn't that merely shifting the problem?
Aren't you essentially turning the universe into a non-created entity?
And if not, could you explain - in a clear and non-ambiguous way (*) -
how the universe came into being?

Subject: mtrr's or lack of them ??? (os.linux)
Date: Thu, 08 Feb 2001 12:23:48 GMT

I posted this to fa.linux.kernel as well, but that seems to be the
wrong place..................................

I'm running SuSE Linux (7.0) Kernel:2.2.16 on an IBM Thinkpad 770
(chip:Pentium II 233mhz , memory:64mb , video:Trident Cyber 9397 2mb,
PCMCIA:TI PCI 1140 etc.) the info that I've managed to obtain seems to
state that PII's should have mtrr's, but I can't seem to get them
allocated, of course I may be wrong - Mobile PII's may not - but I
don't think so.

I'm using XFree86 4.0, have got the thing to do 1024x768:65536:16 bit
mode after mucho buggering about, and KDE2 works o.k. as well.

I entered video=vesa:ypan, mtrr at the lilo boot prompt to see whether
this did any good, and of course it didn't, I got ypan, but no mtrr,
but I do at least know that vesafb works now.

I've configured CONFIG_MTRR=y, compiled cleanly and installed, but to
no avail. /proc/cpuinfo entry always looks like this:

processor : 0
vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 5
model : 8
model name : Mobile Pentium MMX
stepping : 1
cpu MHz : 233.867
fdiv_bug : no
hlt_bug : no
sep_bug : no
f00f_bug : yes
coma_bug : no
fpu : yes
fpu_exception : yes
cpuid level : 1
wp : yes
flags : fpu vme de pse tsc msr mce cx8 mmx
bogomips : 466.94

/proc/ksyms has these two entries :

c0106b3c mtrr_add_R51679c5f
c0106e80 mtrr_del_R272d394e

I've even thought of messing (strictly as a testing exercise - total
blue sky idea) with Richard Gooch's code, to try and force allocation,
but shied away from that.

I've probably got one of those chips wot don't have mtrr's or
something.....I dunno.....If anyone out there can shed some light, your
help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Wrong. We oppose socialism and mommy-state and daddy-state government.

Democrats want government to be your mommy
Republicans want government to be your daddy
Libertarians want government to treat you like an ADULT.

The only reason you tolerate criminal behavior by government officials

You are free to choose NOT to do so at any time.

Reagan has done more for Americans' freedom than any other president
in this century.

Other than the founding fathers, I think first place would be Andrew Jackson,
for vetoing the Bank of United States scheme.

no, it's *un*-shifting the problem.

as something without a creator, sure.

only if you can explain -- in a clear and non-ambiguous way -- how god
came into being. invoking a creator of the universe adds complexity.

only in a very superficial way.

Hi all,

could someone please tell me if STL is included in the gcc compiler that
comes with Red Hat Linux 6.2, and if so, what do I need to do to link it
with my code?

Thanks very much

Seems that Tong has assumed that you are copying mounted filesystems,
not the raw disk device. In this instance, Tong has misinterpreted the
cp command -- cp /dev/hda /dev/hdb is a copy of one file to another file
-- the source and destination just happen to be devices. You do not need
to recursively copy a single file, nor should it be dereferenced, under
normal circumstances. Personally, I'd have used dd, but that's just
preference (I hadn't ever thought of using cp for this kind of task).

And if you were copying mounted filesystems, you'd probably be better
off using cpio or a good version of tar (platform portability being the
consideration -- cp on Linux is that bit more feature rich than cp on
many other platforms).
