Works fine on this Debian Potato system.

This is not exactly a Linux question, but Lynx will
save certain web pages as I want them to be saved.
I want to do the same thing using windows and
Netscape. Is this possible?

Also is there a better newsgroup for questions
such as this?

Click the link with shift button pressed and you get a window
where to save.

enter in kernel setup, the answer is "No target...".
How can I do?

Hello. For my college Internet class, I am suppossed to find out if a newsgroup has a
FAQ section. Does this newsgroup have one, and if so, could somebody point me in the
right direction? Thank you.

Set it up as a postscript lpr printer. You can go to HP web site, they
have a linux version of their webdirect config tool.

As of yet, the Linux EMU10K1 driver for the SBLive! series sound cards
supports the external midi port, but the synth is unsupported. I would
recommend installing a second card that is supported and use that for
synthesis.

Hope this helps.

You need to be in the (top-level) directory where you installed the kernel
source (traditionally /usr/src/linux). Of course, you have to install the
kernel source code first.

Are there any free email account services that can be accessed by telnet? I
don't have actual web access at work just usenet, telnet, ftp and company
email. I used to have an ISP that ran Red Hat Linux 6.2 on their server and
it was real easy to log in and check my mail. I can't do that with

Thank you so much for your response.

netstat -a showed them as CONNECTED, and the time stamp on the process
showed it as having been in that state for several minutes.

/var/log/messages showed a connection from the appropriate IP address,
and then "servicing [username]" as normal. The difference in these
instances, however, was that the Outlook clients weren't downloading any
of the messages.

I killed all of the hung connections, and after several hours of doing
this, the connections stopped hanging altogether.

Hi,

I found Iperf and MGen to be able to do this. However only for UDP.

Just a question which I can't figure it out...

Is varied rate like 5, 10, 15, ... 100 Mbps traffic generator to test the
network throughput at varied loads useful only for UDP and not TCP because
of the connection-oriented design for TCP??

I need to graph at varied rates because i'm testing traffic control with the
various queueing disciplines to see if pFIFO, TBF, CBQ, PRIO, WRR,... works
properly.

This message sounds, as your RAM would be broken, try compiling a
kernel,
if it stops with the message:

gcc caught fatal Signal 11

You can be more or less sure it's your RAM, take some out
(if you have more than one) to see which is broken,
there are other RAM testing tools, but most are not able
to push your CPU/RAM as hard as gcc will do.

GOod luck

Hmm... Even more interesting... I usually use RP8 to listen to the

been a fan of streaming video on a dialup... I do recall using RP7

I'm on my windows box at the moment, and my other linux boxes which

I will not claim to be an expert... I did notice though that on my
MDK 7.2 system, with X 4.0.? (I'm on a windoze box right now) it did
not even look at the XF85Config-4 file, as I had expected it to...
Went to change some setting in the -4 file, and nothing happened. Moved
Config out of the way temporarily, and X complained about no config
file. Put it back and moved -4 out of the way, and it still ran just
as before....

Curious.....

Could you use fetchmail? (Retrieve POP3 messages?) I suppose you should
be able to download your messages into a single file that way and browse
through with the general mail utils.. Sending more out would be a different
issue tho... (Yahoo, I believe, still supports POP for dl of msgs...)
