This was reported to the linux-kernel mailing list in
http://www.uwsg.indiana.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/0104.2/1562.html and
discussed in followups thereto. The problem (which is really somewhere
else like PAM) was exposed by the "run children first" change (to fork()).
The change has been reverted in 2.4.5-pre1 (see
http://lwn.net/2001/0503/kernel.php3 for a brief description).

Hi, I want to get ``.config'' file of Kernel configuration in
RH Linux distribution. The Kernel in Linux distribution has
many modules and it works on various machines.
I want to read how they(RH Linux) configurated Linux Kernel.
Do you know where .config file is? Or other ideas?

Hmm. Solaris claims only 3.5GB is addressable per CPU. I think
that's a design problem on their end, but there might be some hardware
basis for it.
Sorry I don't have anything useful to say; maybe this'll at least
point you in the right direction. (My motherboard only takes up to
2GB, more's the pity. Can't ever have too much RAM.)

We are looking for a Linux moonlighter in the Orange County area to help
us transfer a DOS batch file based industrial system to a Linux based
system. This is NOT a regular position and is not suitable for someone
who needs something to pay the rent. Payment will be in the form of very
low priced stock options in a public company that will be profitable by
August . Estimated time required to do the job is 50 hours depending on
your experience. Can lead to more contract work in future.
I don't care about qualifications or how old you are. Students and
"hackers" welcome. If you know lot about setting up Linux machines,
specially script based units and can write the Linux equivalent of DOS
batch files, I can use your help. Experience with Linmodem software
(using a Winmodem under Linux) and getting PCI sound cards to work under
Linux will be helpful. We will supply dedicated machines for you to use.
We prefer to deal with someone who lives in Orange County, California or
nearby (LA or RIverside county) as there will be times personal contact
will be needed.
Call Dan at 714-420-7535 or after 5:30 in the evening at 714-637-5366.

split the 4G:

Therefor, unless you know what you're doing, reboot after

The bug has not been fixed yet. The bug is not specific to this card;
it is specific to certain laptops. That is why other people report
that your card works fine for them with 2.4.* kernels.

Redhat stores their kernel configs in the "configs" directory of their
kernel source. For RH 7.1 you would look in /usr/src/linux-2.4.2/configs.
For example if you wanted to compile the 2.4.4 kernel on 7.1 using the
redhat config for say an i586 in xconfig just click "load configuration
from file" then enter the full path to the config:
/usr/src/linux-2.4.2/configs/kernel-2.4.2-i586.config
This will load the default config that redhat uses on their i586 kernels in
7.1.

I've downloaded redhat, mandrake, and caldera. I'm not using either redhat

well, besides the mobo and processor - what kind of hard drive do you have
(scsi - u?w?/ide - udma?) and what controller ???
Debian for example has extra boot floppies for those udma controllers
(which personally I have disabled b/c I use a uw scsi bus).

Subject: No Java in Mozilla 0.9?
Date: 10 May 2001 05:48:56 +0100
In several previous versions of Mozilla, Java hasn't been a problem,
but I can't get it to work with 0.9. I've tried installing with the
`Net' installer mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-0.9-installer.tar.gz, the
`Full' installer mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-0.9-sea.tar.gz, and the
straight tarball mozilla-i686-pc-linux-gnu-0.9.tar.gz, and, while in
each case I can get a working Mozilla installation, there is no
Java plugin included.
Having learnt from my experience with Netscape 6, I visited a web page
with Java and was led through the automatic plugin
installation, which failed with the message:
Java 2 Plug-in for Linux: Download was unsuccessful. Please try
again. The Java Plug-in is 7.6Mb and will take you 37 minutes to
fully download with a 28.8 modem or 19 minutes with a 56K
modem. Alternatively, you can download this plug-in directly from our
FTP site at
ftp://ftp.netscape.com/pub/netscape6/english/6.0/windows/win32/smartupdate/jre13i.exe
for Windows. Please e-mail [EMAIL PROTECTED] if you continue
to have problems. Error encountered -- -228
I have tried again several times (same result), and I don't know
whether the problem lies with Netscape's FTP site or my Mozilla.
If I recall correctly, Mozilla 0.8.1 included its own Java plugin; the
release notes for 0.9 claims that Java is included with the Linux (and
Solaris) versions, but it's nowhere to be found. In previous
versions, it has been possible to select the Java component when
running the graphical mozilla-installer; with 0.9, this option was not
presented to me. I'm at a loss as to why this part should have broken
break since 0.8.1.
System: Red Hat 6.0 (+ updates), 2xPentium II. I don't know whether
this is relevant, but I am installing Mozilla as a user in a user
directory, not as root; this has worked in previous versions.
Can anyone confirm this problem, or point me to what I'm doing wrong?

module net-pf-10 is a alias for ipv6, but I installed, compiled it in

try to load the ipv6 module and how can I fix it ?
