OK. Dosemu seems to get the speaker thing OK.
But what happens if you do in Linux outside dosemu:
cat <Enter>
<Ctrl-G><Enter>
<Ctrl-D>
This is the same method that the "terminal dosemu" that you use uses to
produce beeps.
