FreeDos and dosemu

When I place the FreeDos Beta3 boot floppy in the A drive, and run 'dos
-A' dosemu runs.  

More importantly, the resulting setup recognizes as the C:\ drive whatever
is defined by dosemu.conf as "$_hdimage".  FreeDos isn't supposed to be
able to do this, afaik, with dosemu.

Can anybody else replicate this?  Have I possibly corrupted my FreeDos
Beta3 diskette with msdos files?

I can't get the FreeDos Beta4 to do it.
