Tunnels under 2.2.x

Does anyone know where I can find some documentation or someone who has
setup a 
"(LAN)<->(linux_firewall)<->(Internet)<->(linux_firewall)<->(LAN)" tunnel
over the internet with 2.2.x kernel. Any help would be appreciated.
