Yup, you're right. But we've got an interesting situation here in the UK now.
I wouldn't expect Freeserve to provide multiple addresses, for instance.
Especially as providing static addresses is a PITA from the ISP's PoV, as Matti
reminded me.

Demon, however, are in a slightly different boat -- they're still charging
for their services, so they need to differentiate themselves from the rest
(and no, they don't seem to be achieving it on the QoS front). They also
already provide static addresses so presumably have some idea of ways to make
it workable (though it does seem to cause them problems every now and then).
If & when they introduce IPv6, multiple addresses for tenner-a-month
customers, or perhaps some intermediate type of account, would seem to me to
be a nice unique selling point.
