 Thanks that did it.  When LILO is screwed-up I can neither boot Linux nor
 W98. I don't have a W98 CD.
 I got all working now after further scanning the HD which is flawless and
 the floppy boot which might have been corrupted. I changed it with a new
 one. My spare in the fridge had by now the wrong / hdd#
