you need to have a properly configured XF86Config file (found in /etc/X11/,
on RH 5.1 systems). Try reading the "Linux installation and Getting Started"
manual, which can be found somewhere under /usr/doc. /usr/doc/install-guide,
I think. If its not there, it's on the CD, in a package called
"install-guide-2.3-1.rpm".
As for the packages, RedHat uses a tool called RPM to manage packages.
Use 'man rpm' to find out how to use it.
