Hello all, I just made the switch from win95/dos to Red Hat Linux 5.1
So far so good with just a few questions....
1. when I type in startx the screen comes up in an area to big to be
seen on the monitor, I have to use the mouse and go to the edges to push
the virtual screen over. Someone told me or I read it somewhere that I
could use the Control,Alt,+ NumKey to resize but it has no affect on the
screen :(
what am I doing wrong???

2. How do you get a different screen saver to appear (other than the
blank screen)?
I clicked on the LOCK/SCREEN SAVER option and it comes up with 4 or 5
columns of options, but I can't make them stay after I exit that
option...

I've only had Linux a couple of days now and have already gotten
Netscape Nav. hooked up(using it now) and am trying to find a good book
to help out with some of my questions that keep popping up.
My son want's me to install some game on here called DOOM? I think it's
on the CD but I havent had much luck on installing packages(I think
thats the word they use) and will have to try and find somthing on RPM
to do it I THINK..... ;)
Well back to more reading. This OS is so neat that I just can't seem to
put it down...
After being a DOS/Win3.1/Win95 nerd so long it's going to be a while
getting that brain wash out of my head and replace it with a real
OS........
Windows95 FOREVER: So that it will remind me everyday that I made the
right choice in switching to LINUX.
Thanx Bill.........Mike
