Wait. Is you card made by Creative Labs? No?
Then don't try to configure it as a SoundBlaster.
the sound-Howto mentions (in at least half-a-dozen places)
that unless you have a Creative Labs Soundblaster,
you should not attempt to traet it as a Soundblaster.
It goes on to say that cards advertized as "SoundBlaster
compatible" are not. If your card is advertized as
"soundBlaster compatable", try treating it as MSS
(Micro$oft Sound System).
Please read the Sound-Howto.
